The MSO’s popular Meet the Music Series for Schools is an exciting array of incredible performers and much-loved orchestral repertoire. With six concerts to choose from there is something to inspire everyone.
Each concert in this series will be accompanied by a digital pre-concert talk to help prepare students for the performance.

A celebration of some of Australia’s – and the world’s – finest living composers, Metropolis showcases the MSO’s commitment to contemporary symphonic music.
In 2026, the MSO explores the fascinating world of Foley – the art of creating sound effects for film – in Thomas Meadowcroft's remarkable concerto. You'll also hear music written for iconic films, by Australian composers Bryony Marks and David Hirschfelder.
Join us for a captivating evening including conversation with the composers and Principal Guest Conductor Benjamin Northey.
